Tutorial - Competitor Monitor

You can sign up on our homepage. Before you start, please make sure DoNotReply@intelliburg.com is not blocked. An email will be sent from DoNotReply@intelliburg.com when you complete sign up. If your spam blocker blocks DoNotReply@intelliburg.com, you won't be able to activate your account.

You must create an unique username. Your password must be at least 6 digit long. We also don't allow an email address to be used for more than one account. Since your password will be encrypted, we can't send you

When you complete the sign up, you will see a message saying we sent you an email. It may take a few minutes for that email to arrive in your inbox. Until you activate your account using the link in that email, you can't access client portal.

You will get a message saying your account is activated.

Click "Client Portal" to access all the functions.

Before you buy any scan points, please download and install Intelliburg Controller. It is a Windows desktop application that you must have to use our service. If you can't install it on your computer, you won't be able to use our service. We are going to support other platform in future. But we only have Windows version right now.

Your browser will ask you to save or run the Setup.exe. Either way is fine. If you choose "Save", double click the Setup.exe file to run once download completed.

There might be another confirmation window before the installation starts. The installation process takes a few seconds if you already have Microsoft .Net 4 installed. It may take much longer (20 minutes) if you don't have .Net 4 installed and the installation program has to download it from Microsoft and install it for you.

Once installation process completes, the controller will start automatically. You will also get an icon on your desktop for this controller. You can start Intelliburg.com Controller by double click this icon.

Enter your Intelliburg.com username and password, then click Login button to test your installation. If you logged in successfully, Controller window will expend and more tabs will be shown in the window. Account Summary tab will be shown by default.

Controller has 5 sections/tabs.

1. Login: This is the first tab and the only visible tab before you login.
2. Account Summary: You can have a quick view of your account status.
3. Add New URL: Browse to your target pages and add them to your watch list.
4. Price Change Alerts: You receive all the price change alerts here and process them.
5. Competitor Analysis: For a given SKU, you can see all the targets you have added.

You will see each tab/section' function in detail below.

On "Add New URL" tab, you can browse web sites the same way as you use Internet Explorer. In fact, it is your Internet Explorer that is embedded here. So your Internet Explorer settings will be used here. When you find the competitor's product page, specify 3 things: your SKU for this product, competitor's price and competitor's shipping (optional). To specify competitor's price, you can either type it in "Price" box on the top or highlight the price on the web page. When you are ready to submit, click "Add To Watch List" button.

After the URL is saved to your watch list, a confirmation with timestamp will be added to the list on the bottom.

If the page you are looking at is already on your watch list, a yellow bar will appear shortly after you load the page to inform you. The yellow bar will indicate the SKU for the existing record. You shouldn't use one target URL for more than one SKU.

You can review or delete URLs on your watch list on Manage Watch List page. You can delete individual URLs using the delete button for each row or delete all the URLs with the red button on the top. You can sort the list by your SKU, competitor price or shipping. You can open those URLs in new windows to quickly check them out.

After adding a few target URLs, you are ready to turn on the scanning service. To do that, you need to purchase some scan points. Clicking "Buy Scan Points" link to open the Buy Scan Point page. We use PayPal as our exclusive payment method. You don't need a PayPal account because you can use credit card if you wish.

You will be taken to PayPal.com to complete the purchase. You can adjust the quantity for the amount you plan to buy. And you can choose to use your PayPal account or credit/debit card to pay. Once you finish the payment on PayPal.com, please click the continue button to come back.

You can review your purchase history on the purchase/usage history page

After you logged in, Controller will load all the alerts for you automatically. If there isn't any new alert, it will also display that message.

You don't have to wait till Controller finishes loading alerts. We use multithread processing. You can start processing alerts as soon as you see one. Controller will continue loading alerts from Intelliburg.com while you process them. You will see the total number of alerts you have received since you started Controller. You may click "Load more alerts" button to retrieve more alerts which may be detected after you started Controller. Since our scanner works around the clock, new alerts may be added to your alert list all the time.

For each alert, you have 4 options/buttons: Update, False Alert, Delete, Ignore

• Update: This is for a true price change. After you type in the new price or highlight the price on target webpage, click this button to update the price in Intelliburg database.
• False Alert: If you didn't see a price change, click this button to remove this alert and notify our system this is a false alert. This will help us to reduce false alert on this page in future.
• Delete: If this page is no longer valid, click this button to delete this URL from your watch list.
• Ignore: If you can't choose any of the 3 options above, click this button to skip this URL and load next alert.

Controller will display all the competitor URLs for the SKU that you put in.

You can click on any of those URLs and open it in the Alert Process tab to update the price or delete the URL.

This step is needed only if you want to use our reports. To get competitive report, you need to provide your product information for each SKU you use in your watch list. If you don't want to provide any of your product information, you can use our data feed to download your competitor information and use it in your own system.

For detail explanation, please read the field description on Manage SKUs page. You may also use a txt file to upload large number of SKUs. We will cover that one in another section.

Quite often, you will want to use our data in your own system for reporting. Especially if you have large number of products, it is more valuable to import our data into your own database for automation. We provide a data feed which you can download and import to your system using a script or program. It is very simple to use. You can get more detail on that page and also get the developer key there.

Your watch list is your most valuable asset and you should backup that list often. We provide an easy backup tool that you can use.

If you need to restore the watch list from a backup, you can easily do so by uploading the watch list backup file you obtained earlier. You can also compose a file using the same format and structure to add a batch of URLs to your watch list.

This is needed only if you want to use our reports. For advanced users, we provide a data feed that contains your watch list and competitors' price information. You can upload a tab delimited txt file to update and add SKU records. Our system will update each record based on SKU. If our system couldn't find a SKU record, that SKU will be added to your SKU list as a new record.

To use this report, you must provide a SKU list with product name. Once you select a SKU, you will see all the competitors who have lower prices than your price. Or you can download a txt file with all the records for every SKU you have provided.

If you have large number of products, this report will not be handy. You should use the data feed we provide to import the data to your own system for further analysis.

You must provide MAP, MPN, VENDORNAME with your SKU records before you can use this report. Our MAP violation report lists competitors' URL and prices for the vendor you selected. You may also download all the MAP violations for all vendors.
